Loan Officer

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the SBA 504 and EDA loan programs. His/her primary responsibility will be to develop new customer and resource partner relationships. The Loan Officer will be responsible for marketing the loan programs, performing credit analysis, preparing loan proposals for Board and SBA approval and handling the special needs of customers and resource partners by providing outstanding customer service.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Establish an annual business development plan and goals with the objective of fostering the growth of RDFC through mutually beneficial relationships with resource partners and prospective customers.
• Develop and maintain business relationships through a professionally administered sales-oriented calling program, with the objective of increasing the overall base of customers and referral relationships.
• Participate in community and civic functions, representing RDFC, with emphasis on maintaining and developing business relationships.
• Review and analyze financial statements to determine the feasibility of new loan requests.
• Create written credit analysis presentations to loan review committee for all new loans.
• Personally address customer problems or questions in a concerned, thoughtful manner, while granting customers the fullest consideration possible.
• Participate in annual loan review, work-out efforts and liquidations, as directed by the Executive Director.
• Stay knowledgeable about other lending programs and resources at the local, regional, and federal level as well as those associated with private institutions.

Professional Qualifications (Minimum Required):

• Demonstrated sales and business development skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Minimum two years experience as a commercial lender at a bank or certified development company
• Competence with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Minimum B.S. in finance, accounting, marketing or a related field

Professional Qualifications (Preferred):

• Experience in SBA or other government-enhanced loan programs
• Working knowledge of the SBA 504 and EDA Loan Programs
• Formal credit training is desired

• Must be able to work independently
• Personal and professional integrity
